Firehouse Receives Local and National Awards

SACRAMENTO, CA — The Firehouse Restaurant has received six Sacramento Magazine 2006 Subscribers’ Choice Awards and the coveted Wine Spectator Magazine’s Best of Award of Excellence for its fifth consecutive year.

Sacramento Magazine readers rated The Firehouse tops in the following categories:

Best Outdoor Dining; Best Wine List; Best Special Occasion Dining; Best Old Favorite; Best Restaurant to Take Mom; and Best Crème Brûlée.

Wine Spectator Magazine awarded The Firehouse its Best of Award of Excellence, earned by only 700 restaurants nationwide. This award gives special recognition to restaurants that displaying outstanding vintage depth -- with vertical offerings from top producers, or excellent breadth spread over several growing regions -- and a wine list that typically offers 500 or more selections. The Firehouse exceeds these requirements, housing the largest Silver Oak collection outside the winery – representing every vintage produced of the venerable cabernet. The Firehouse also offers more than 1,300 selections and 18,000 bottles.

The Firehouse is the only restaurant in the region to have received Wine Spectator Magazine’s Best of Award of Excellence for as many consecutive years.
