Firehouse Announces New Executive Chef

Deneb Williams Brings Passion for Food Arts and Award-Winning Talent to Region

SACRAMENTO, CA – Chef Deneb Williams has joined The Firehouse Restaurant as its new Executive Chef.

Williams brings twenty-plus years of culinary experience to The Firehouse.  His career began in the Northwest, at The Adriatica, a landmark Seattle restaurant, where he worked under Chef Nancy Flume.  He went on to become Executive Chef of MacKenzie’s Chop House in Colorado Springs, where he developed a reputation for “fresh sheets” and wine pairings.

Chef Williams joined the Cliff House at Pikes Peak in 2001 and during his tenure the cuisine soared and his culinary team amassed numerous prestigious awards and accolades including the coveted DiRona (Distinguished Restaurants of North America) and AAA Four Star/ Four Diamond ratings.

On the side, his passion for creating the best dining experience led him to study both the practical and theoretical aspects of craft brewing and winemaking.

Most recently, Chef Williams was Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage at The Olson Mansion in Seattle and Resort at Port Ludlow, also in Washington.

Praised by food critics and national food publications, Chef Williams’ cooking has inspired the following:

“Praised by Wine Spectator and Bon Appétit, Executive Chef Williams’ creations will far surpass your expectations.”

Amanda Faison, 5280 Magazine.

“Nouveau Continental cuisine… is a high wire act, and Executive Chef Deneb Williams does more than just walk it – he handsprings across it.”

Josh Dinar, Denver Dining Out.

“I’m still dreaming of the mushroom bisque….”

Charlotte Butzin, Bon Appétit.

Chef Williams will work closely with Mario Ortiz, General Manager and Sommelier, to create wine-pairing menus and events, bringing together his acclaimed culinary talents with the Firehouse’s award-winning wine selection.

The Firehouse Restaurant offers a one-of-a-kind ambiance steeped with tradition and elegance.  It is recognized for excellence in food, wine and hospitality with awards including Wine Spectator’s “Best Award of Excellence” for five consecutive years, and six 2006 Sacramento Magazine Best of Sacramento Awards including “Best Wine List” and “Best Special Occasion Dining” and “Best Outdoor Dining”.
