Wine Enthusiast Magazine Honors The Firehouse

SACRAMENTO – The Firehouse has received the Award of Unique Distinction for 2007 from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. The magazine’s Restaurant Awards recognize the nation’s top wine programs.

Only a select number of restaurants in North America, out of thousands of applicants, is honored at this level of recognition which represents dedication to delivering the most “wine-friendly experience” to patrons.

The Firehouse, under the guidance of General Manager and Sommelier Mario Ortiz, has built a wine collection and program that is regarded as one of Northern California’s best with more than 18,000 bottles and 1,400 labels, including one of the nation’s most comprehensive collections of the iconic Silver Oak Cabernet.

The Firehouse was also voted “Best of Sacramento” in seven categories for 2007 by the subscribers of Sacramento Magazine: Best Romantic Dining; Best Wine List; Best Business Lunch; Best Outdoor Dining; Best Special Occasion Dining; Best Old Favorite and Best Restaurant to Take Mom and has received Wine Spectator Magazine’s Best of Award of Excellence for six consecutive years.

The Firehouse is located in Old Sacramento at 1112 Second Street.
