It was a family affair this morning as our GM & Wine Director Mario Ortiz joined his niece, Julissa Ortiz of GoodDay Sacramento, to talk about some of the diamond anniversary festivities we're working on here at The Firehouse! The history, the food, and the wine were all part of the discussion as the pair went over the fun things we've got in store for our guests.
Recently, we were recognized by Wine Spectator as one of 13 restaurants across the nation having a superior collection of California Cabernets. This prompted us to recently add a three-pour Cabernet Flight to our menu in addition to our large inventory of offerings by the bottle and glass. Mario and Julissa also discussed our 60th anniversary burger which is a beautiful behemoth of house ground beef including filet mignon, brisket, and rib-eye plus Shropshire Blue Cheddar Cheese, arugula, tomato, and pickled red onions. This incredibly tasty burger is served with a half bottle of Mt. Veeder Cabernet for $60 and is available exclusively on our Happy Hour Menu.
Our Diamond Fashioned cocktail also made an appearance, as did a very exciting unveiling of our very limited production, Firehouse Cabernet blend. This blend which was made exclusively for us by one of our friends in the Napa Valley, will be limited to around 90 cases, to be released for purchase in the restaurant soon.
